Day 3 of our Melbourne family trip begins, once again, at Flagstaff Gardens.
For breakfast, we're eating food bought from the supermarket: bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, sausages, and fruit. We skipped eggs as they were expensive, but we're enjoying plenty of Greek yogurt (which was surprisingly cheap).

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria

After the park, we headed to the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria - my most anticipated Melbourne destination. We took the tram, despite it being outside the free zone, because our kids love trains. The 20-minute tram ride brought us to the gardens, nestled in a quiet residential area. Entry is free for both adults and children. As a plant lover, I found it incredibly soothing. There were many plants I'd never seen before, with fascinating shapes. As an ikebana enthusiast, I was drawn to the plants' growth patterns and forms.

The garden bus tour is highly recommended! It's an easy way to see the whole garden, the kids love the open-air bus, and you get a guided commentary about the plants. It costs $15 for adults, and children ride free.

ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image)

After enjoying the botanical gardens, we walked back to the city. After lunch, we visited ACMI. This museum is free and offers exhibits on the history of moving images from around the world. It's full of interactive displays that engage all five senses, which our 1 and 2-year-olds loved.

Library Kids Area

Next, we returned to the State Victoria Library. Our daughter enjoyed coloring with the provided coloring sheets and pencils in the kids' space. Our son had fun in the climbing area. Of course, there were plenty of children's books in various languages. We highly recommend this library.

Red Cliff (Chinese Restaurant)

For dinner, we went to a Chinese restaurant called Red Cliff. Their Yabby Noodles were so delicious! I was impressed by the flavor, which I could eat every day. It's similar to Thai Poo Pad Pong Curry or Vietnamese Banh Canh Cua (essentially, a shrimp/crab broth flavor).
